Lose Control
For this project, I handled the mixing, mastering, recording, audio engineering, and overall production of the track “Lose Control.” In addition, I performed the piano. Emotionally intense, vocal and piano based piece. High quality recording is the first priority. Concentrate on combining high quality sounds of natural instruments. Record the vocal and piano at the same time. After record guitar.
Positioning:

Recording:

Vocal:
1x Neumann U87 height: 1.6 meters, cardioid pattern, Gobos placed on the left and right sides, and also in front of the vocalist (panel) to reduce room reflections, piano sound and isolate the vocal sound. The frequency range is very wide and the timbre is great.

Piano:
Placed on a rug to minimize floor reflections, lid fully open. Close mic: 2x KM-184, one on low strings, one on high strings; 30cm above strings, in cardioid pattern. I used this technique to record stereo in a natural way. It will capture the sound character of the different parts of the strings.

Guitar:
One microphone positioned toward the 6th string (thick string) side near the neck. The other microphone positioned near the bridge. This dual mic setup captures both the warmth from the neck side and the brightness from the bridge side, providing a balanced stereo image. A microphone that emphasizes the mid frequencies, like the SM57, would be good for this track.
